#100poems Ten: Honest Lullabye

Rest your head
Close your eyes
Sleepyhead, forget your care.

When you wake
Never fear
All your problems will be there.

They will wait
Till the morn
Clustered round your head like crows

When your eyes
Blink and flinch
They will peck you, heaven knows.

Go to sleep
Get some rest.
With you, take this friendly warning:

All the stress
That you bear
Won’t feel different in the morning.
